Norwin Merens
Norwin A. Merens, Managing Director, brings more than 30 years of professional experience in the areas of integrated marketing communications, public relations and strategic business development. He has worked extensively in planning, evaluating and upgrading B2B relationship-marketing programs for manufacturing clients, engineering consulting and professional services firms, trade associations and technical societies throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Before establishing NM Marketing Communications, LLC in March 1999, he served as Group Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Skokie, IL-based Bodycote Materials Testing, Inc. where he was responsible for all corporate business development, marketing and public relations initiatives–as well as management of the marketing and sales teams–for the global provider of metallurgical and materials testing services. Norwin previously served as Marketing Director at Taussig Associates, Inc., until its acquisition by Bodycote in September 1997. During his tenure with Taussig, he was responsible for creating award-winning marketing materials and working closely with that company’s engineering and laboratory staff.
He also spent some 15 years in marketing, communications, publishing and trade show management and operations capacities for the North American Die Casting Association (NADCA) and later the American Foundry Society. At AFS, he promoted the society’s education and training programs to senior corporate executives and middle management throughout North America while managing all PR and publicity activities for the 10,000 member technical organization.
A journalism graduate of Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, Norwin is a candidate in the master’s program in marketing communications administered by the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Stuart School of Business. He was chairman of NADCA Chapter 5 from 1996-98 and has served on the Chapter’s executive board since 1992. He also functions as vice chair/programming for the American Foundry Society’s Chicago Chapter.
Other trade and business affiliations include AFS, Business Marketing Association, City Club of Chicago, NADCA, North Suburban Business Development Foundation, Publicity Club of Chicago (PCC), Public Relations Society of America, Skokie, IL Chamber of Commerce. He was named to the PCC Board of Directors in 2008.

Thomas Stack
Tom Stack, Senior Consultant, specializes in public relations and marketing services for professional services and business-to-business clients. He has more than 25 years of professional communications experience, including some 15 years with American Airlines and McCord Travel Management. As Director of Marketing Communications for McCord, he was responsible for a number of significant public relations and communications successes as the company expanded to serve markets across the country and grew to be one of the nation’s top 10 corporate travel firms.
While at American, he generated extensive publicity for the carrier in a major competitor’s home market. Earlier in his career, he worked for Burson-Marsteller and Ruder Finn, Public Relations handling numerous blue chip corporate, industrial and service industry clients.
Tom earned a Master of Science in Journalism at Ohio University, Athens, Ohio and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Business Marketing Association (BMA), including serving on BMA’s Board of Directors.

Jeff Wessman
Jeff Wessman, Design Director, has managed a full range of graphic design projects for industrial and service clients during his 30-year career. Mr. Wessman specializes in creating effective designs that address clients’ communications objectives, whether he is working on a one-page sell sheet, corporate identity or a complete advertising campaign.
Jeff has worked with a diverse group of clients, including the American Foundry Society, North American Die Casting Association, Tsurumi Pump, Crusader International Group, Integrated Genomics, SPX Hydraulic Technologies, Textron, Motorola and others. He holds a BFA degree in Visual Communications from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL

Elaine Fiedler
Elaine Fiedler, Editor/Staff Writer, brings her publishing know-how and writing skills to a diverse range of businesses and organizations. For the last nine years, she has worked on healthcare and medical content: editing, proofreading and formatting material for the Publications, Health Policy, and Research Departments of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. She has written and edited several articles for AAOS Now magazine and a workbook on cross-cultural communications for medical personnel.
Earlier in her career, she was the editorial production manager for the Cinefantastique Magazine Group, a publisher of film review magazines that focus on special effects and moviemaking. While there, she learned the many facets of publishing, including editorial and production duties, and oversaw advertising programs, catalog preparation, press releases, and media distribution.
Ms. Fiedler has worked on a variety of content. She has written articles about retail construction and industrial design and copyedited four books by a professional sportsman. She has produced reviews on health books for Publishers Weekly, proofed career guides for Ferguson Publishing and collateral material for Zurich in North America and United Airlines. Whatever the subject, she strives to clearly and accurately communicate the client’s message to its target audience.
A graduate of the University of Missouri, with post-graduate work at the University of Georgia’s School of Journalism, she acquired valuable experience at both schools in writing creative and documentary film and TV scripts. Ms. Fiedler is a member of the Independent Writers of Chicago.

Paul Lloyd
Paul Lloyd, Project Manager, offers a creative flair combined with the ability to gain a rapid understanding of business information and topics. Electronics, heavy construction equipment, computer hardware and software systems, industrial distribution, metals manufacturing, nuclear engineering and advanced quality programs such as ISO 9000 are examples.
He has worked with more than 75 of the Fortune 500 as well as hundreds of mid-size and small industrial companies. Client assignments have included Pacific Nuclear, TMI Transformers, Herr-Voss Stampco, Caterpillar, Dressta North America, Vectra Technologies, Motorola, Nalco, Hydro Aluminum North America, Komatsu America, Rolled Metal Products and Castings for Industry.
Paul received extensive training in radar and missile fire control electronics from the U.S. Army (course load equivalent to EE degree requirements). He holds certificates in computer programming and website administration. With his background and experience, he is highly qualified to translate complex technical information into meaningful marketing messages.
John Cuneo
John Cuneo, Creative Director, takes numerous video and commercial projects from concept to completion. Building on his more than 25 years experience as a writer, he has developed a passion for every aspect of production from field producing through supervision of post-production.
Mr. Cuneo started writing and producing video and broadcast projects as a senior account executive for Porter Novelli Los Angeles in 1996. His clients have included Sprint, Absolut Vodka, Twix, and Hewlett Packard. He also wrote, produced, and co-directed Vision of Hope for the M.I.N. D. Institute at the University of California, Davis campus. The project’s six-person production team documented the Institute’s search to uncover the mysteries of autism. The result was an award-winning 9-minute documentary that raised millions for the organization’s research efforts.
Mr. Cuneo has also produced demonstration videos for Mitsubishi that unveiled new model sports cars, SUVs, and European rally cars performing on race tracks, dirt tracks, and off-road courses. A University of Missouri journalism graduate, he began his career managing media relations activity for the American Automobile Manufacturers Association, Washington, D.C. This program included ongoing contact with Chrysler, Ford and General Motors Corporation.
