Glenview, Illinois, December 1, 2010 -- Chicago Cubs Radio Broadcaster Pat Hughes has retained NM Marketing Communications (NMMC) as the media agency to represent him for various public appearances and hosting engagements. This marks the seventh year Hughes and NMMC have been working together on various sports marketing projects throughout the Chicago metro area and in Illinois.
Hughes, "The Voice of the Cubs" on WGN-AM 720 since 1996, has been a major league baseball announcer for more than 25 years. Before joining Cubs' legend Ron Santo in the booth, he partnered with Bob Uecker on the Milwaukee Brewers' Radio Network from 1984-95. Named six times Illinois Sportscaster of the Year, Hughes is noted for his attention to detail, knowledge of baseball history, love for the game and connection with his radio audience.
He has produced/written and narrated a series on great baseball announcers entitled Baseball Voices. His releases have been audio books about former colleagues Bob Uecker and Harry Caray, as well as Red Barber, Marty Brennaman, Jack Buck, Milo Hamilton, Harry Kalas, Dave Niehaus and Bob Prince.
"Pat Hughes humor, wealth of sports information and speaking experience are ideal for corporate meetings and conventions; trade shows and conferences; charity events, fundraisers/golf outings," explained Norwin Merens, managing director for NM Marketing Communications.
Bookings are being scheduled now for the early spring 2011 time frame since Hughes' availability during the baseball regular season is limited. In February 2011, he will be the featured headliner at the Illinois Association of Ophthalmology annual meeting in Rosemont, IL.
