Norwin MerensNorwin A. Merens, Managing Director, brings more than 30 years of professional experience in the areas of integrated marketing communications, public relations and strategic business development. He has worked extensively in planning, evaluating and upgrading B2B relationship-marketing programs for manufacturing clients, engineering consulting and professional services firms, trade associations and technical societies throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Before establishing NM Marketing Communications, Inc. in March 1999, he served as Group Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Skokie, IL-based Bodycote Materials Testing, Inc. where he was responsible for all corporate marketing and public relations initiatives--as well as management of the marketing and sales teams--for the global provider of metallurgical and materials testing services.

He also spent some 15 years in marketing, communications, publishing and trade show management and operations capacities for the North American Die Casting Association (NADCA) and later the American Foundry Society (AFS), where he promoted and sold that organization's education and training programs to senior corporate executives and middle management throughout North America.

A journalism graduate of Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, Mr. Merens is currently a candidate in the master's program in marketing communications administered by the Illinois Institute of Technology's Stuart School of Business. He was chairman of NADCA's Chicago Chapter from 1996-98 and has served on the Chapter's executive board since 1992.

Other trade and business affiliations include the American Foundry Society, Business Marketing Association, City Club of Chicago, Greater O'Hare Association, North Suburban Business Development Foundation, Publicity Club of Chicago (PCC), Public Relations Society of America, Skokie, IL Chamber of Commerce. In 2008, he was named to the PCC Board of Directors.
