Sports Speaker Norm Van Lier Takes His Audiences by the Horns

A charismatic public speaker, Norm Van Lier is best known as former NBA guard for the Chicago Bulls from 1969 to 1979. Four-time member of the NBA All-Star Team, eight times on the NBA All-Defensive Team, and 5th All-Time Assist Leader in the NBA, Van Lier spent 7 of his 10 NBA seasons with the Bulls, and still ranks 3rd next to Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen in career assists and steals. A talented sports personality, Van Lier was awarded an Emmy for his television work, and recently appeared in the feature film Barbershop 2. Van Lier returns to television as co-studio analyst for the Bulls' 2005/06 Season, along with former Bulls center Stacey King, for Comcast SportsNets’ new half-hour “Bulls Pre-Game Live.” One of the city’s most beloved personalities, Van Lier will also make weekly appearances on "Chicago Tribune Live."
